Hi guys,
I have been in Taiwan just over 3 months, 2 months of which I have been working part-time (about 8 or 9 hours a week). The school is a low class cram school and the owner unprofessional...I sensed that from the beginning, but I was just desperate to get started. This school got me my work permit and ARC but things are coming to a head now and it's time to leave.
The thing is I never saw a contract - which means I never signed one! but I assume there must have been one to get the work permit in the first place and it must have stipulated, I believe, at least 14 hours of work.
Should I ask to see a copy of this contract? Can they just fire me without any period of notice or withhold my money?
I just need time to find another job (or two) and I don't mind giving them a reasonable period of notice. I just like to know how to play this as I can't really afford to be without a job for more than a week or two - it's been bad enough as it is working just part-time hours.
Any help or guidance is much appreciated. |
