I'm a newbie from Australia. A mature-age female, with university degree and CELTA + experience as a workplace trainer. Although now over 55, I am very fit and active.
I have been applying for english teaching positions in China, Japan, and Korea, but to date no luck.
I'm now at the point where I think I should just pack my bags and cold-call on english language colleges.
Could anyone suggest the best country to start my search. I'm willing to go anywhere. I've already had responses from Indonesia stating that my age precludes me from positions in that country.
Hope to hear from you. |

Your age might be a hinderance. Don't cold call. Maybe try recruiters, thailand might be an option, or taiwan. China should accept people under 65. try having employers come to you by posting your CV here

Thanks NatureGirl - it's all very confusing - given that some posts have indicated that cold-calling has resulted in work.
Would you agree that cold-calling is an option for South America??
Thanks |
