July/August destinations in India (with less rain/less humidity)

I am planning to spend April, and May in the Indian Himalayas (both NE India, and the far NW), but since I have a six month Indian visa, I am allowed to stay until the end of September, my question is where should I spend June, and then July, and August? I know these months are very rainy almost everywhere, and since I am visiting dry places like Ladakh in April/May, the question remains where else in India can I go that's relatively dry (though a nice downpour now and then COULD be nice, just to see it, but not everyday, and not if it's going to affect photography), and where is the heat, and humidity relatively lower (in July, and August)? Please don't say Ladakh because I will have already seen it in April/May. I am looking for other alternatives, with less rain, less humidty, and fewer hazy/overcast days (in July, and August).

you are going to have a difficult time avoiding rain in any part of India during the monsoon. But if you want less hot and humid places head south. The rain really isn't that bothersome since it only downpours about once or twice per day and then only for an hour or so (in general, depends on what that particular year is). Bangalore always has temperate weather (relatively). It's a great place to take trips from since its right in the middle of the south. Hampi is beautiful, Kerala is amazing (ANY TIME OF YEAR), Mysore is relaxed and interesting, the list goes on and on...

To add a little clarification to Squindia's comments... (love ya girl!) I would not go just anywhere in the South... Stay away from Tamil Nadu - it is ALWAYS HOT AND MUGGY, particularly along the coast. Hill Stations like Munnar and Ooty are beautiful and relatively cool. Kerala is amaaaazing, but I would think would be pretty humid along the coastline in places like Cochin and Allepy (two of my favorite towns in India).

travelingirl is correct. but the weather in the south would never stop me from traveling - that may just be me - but it doesn't seem to me to be anything too crazy.

if you want to see india see india...don't let weather stop you!

So are you in the north now? I work in Chennai and it is probably 39 in the shade today. In June the temp will drop a little and a little more in July, but just by a couple of degrees. If you do come down here, check Indiamike.com for tips on avoiding heatstroke. October-January 31 are ideal for travel here and February is warm, but not HOT.
