Hey Everyone,
I'm new to this experience and I'm looking for any info or advice I can get. A little about me, I'm an American with a BA in Radio/TV/Film and I'm currently taking an online tefl certification course with teflcorp. I'm also working on a cruise ship sailing the world. What I'm hoping, is that I can get a job lined up before my contract ends mid-May and hopefully leave around June. I also don't really have the financial means to fly myself to a country and try to find a job after I'm there.
From what I've read so far, it seems like South Korea might be a good choice for my first teaching experience. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any schools in particular. Also I'm looking for any advice I can get as far as what I should make sure is included in the contract and how an interview might go by phone or internet. I also have bills that I need to pay from my American bank account, so I'm hoping someone has experienced a good way to transfer money. Additionally I'm looking to have the option to legally tutor privately, which I know involves a different visa. What do I need to do differently or in general to get that visa and can I take care of all of it through a Korean embassy in the U.S.? Basically I'm a complete newbie so any help will be greatly appreciated. |
