				| Hi, I'm new here in the Gulf and now teaching at the Oman Ministry College of Sohar. It has to be the worst college I have ever worked for. Does anyone else out there think the same?

				| In November last year there were some posts from a disgruntled creature called Steppy Boy, but he seemed to have (A) a major chip on his shoulder about Oman as a whole
 (B) entirely changed his original tune. Two years before he had been telling everybody that Sohar College was "a great place to work".

Remembering some places that I worked in the UK before coming to Oman, Sohar college would have to be truly terrible to get the description of "the worst". Are you talking about your colleagues, the management or the students?

				| Gee jdl, that really makes me feel a whole lot better! Yes, Steppy-boy is a bit of a legend in the College, but the majority verdict is that he was badly mistreated by the admin and some teachers and had a right to feel bitter about his experience here. A lot of what he said about Sohar College is actually true . Does anyone know where he is now? Last I heard he was in Paris sipping Champagne. | |

				| Steppy Boy's tastes didn't run toi champagne. He was boasting about chugging back cheap Chardonnay in some draughty estaminet in Paris in November (cold and damp), trying to make the rest of us feel jealous.
 He failed at that, too.

				| So where is Steppy-boy? Is he really in France? Does anyone know? The Dean of Sohar College would still like to have a few words with him because he has done immense harm to the reputation of this College. Right now, the College is finding it hard to replace teachers who have left, so much so that it has to keep on a clapped-out drunken, marijuana smoking Phd'er with a surf-board degree from Bali. | |

Er, jdl, that was a quote taken from Dennis Weaver's character on McCloud, a rather entertaining series where a Taos, NM deputy pursues a suspect to New York City. Once there, though, the powers that be back in Taos don't wish him back, so he is temporarily assigned to the NYPD. The quote?

No matter where you go...there ya are.
