I bought it 17 days ago and the system is already unusable
A few weeks ago I found a website that gave a brief description of the ESL teachers situation in each of many countries, including the requirements needed, the average salary and the general situation in each country. Can someone help me find this? |

Thanks! That is very useful but I am looking for yet another site that showed the average salary per country. That is the most critical piece of info for me now. I remember that there were 4 or 5 countries in the Middle East that paid pretty well, as in over $2K per month with good benefits. If anyone out there knows these countries please chime in |

Dear haopengyou
It'll all depend on your qualifications (MA in TESOL or Applied Linguistics) and experience (at least three years usually preferred), but most of the Middle Easters countries on the Arabian peninsula (Saudi, UAE, Qatar, etc) with the exception of Oman and Yemen, have salaries in the range that you mentioned.
Regards,
John |

Thanks! I don't have an MA but I do have a teaching certificate from the State of California, have 9 years of experience teaching English in China, in a variety of positions, plus 10 years of teaching in the U.S....and will finish my TEFL by the end of the summer. I am know I am pushing it without the MA...but I will try. |

Oman , KSA, Kuwait, and UAE all pay about that. Teaching experience in the US? In schools, try www.ibo.org or www.tes.co.uk go to an intl school and you can get about 2to 3K just about anywhere in the world. |

Your notebook isn't an Acer Aspire One, is it?
I love mine, but it's got an occasional tendency to lock up.
Mine is blocked now- but not hard to unblock.
Best,
Justin
PS- I know this is semi-off-topic, cause it would be a strange coincidence for you to have the same machine I do. But just in case- if it IS, it's a simple system flaw. Seems completely shot, but with a simple step , you can get it running again. |

I'm less expert with those- what happened exactly?
If it's a software/BIOS kind of fix, somebody here may be able to help.
If not- 17 days old? Take it back to the shop and make them sort it out!
Best,
Justin |
