I know it's tough over there for non-EU passport holders to get work visas, but I know it's not impossible because I have a few friends that were lucky enough to get teaching jobs over there, but that was through recruitment programs via different schools and colleges.

I've been looking into jobs for about a month now and am now solely focused on trying to find a job abroad, but it seems there are too many sketchy 'send us your resume and we'll find you a job' scam sites out there.

I just want to teach in a Spanish speaking country, preferably Spain or Chile. I hold a bachelor's degree and I just finished a 100-hour TEFL certificate.

At this point is it a pipe-dream that this could work out or is this really possible in the next few months?

For a US citizen, teaching legally in Spain is essentially a pipe dream. You could check the Spain forum for more detailed info.
