First: Does anyone know how the locals pronounce the name of their city?
Lonely Planet says Tahss-ko. My expat friends in Alamos, Sonora say Tash-ko. My Mexican girlfriends in Morelia say Taks-ko (with the x fully pronounced). I am going to use the pronunciation my Mexican girlfriends taught me, unless someone out there has more reliable information.
Second: Does Taxco have its own airport or do you have to fly to Toluca or DF and then take a bus?
OK, I'll admit that I submitted this post this because I couldn't stand it that there hadn't been any posts all day today, but I also do need to know the answers to these questions. It's just not a burning need. |

Taxco doesn't have an airport, it's a small town. Toluca or DF is your best bet, or possibly Acapulco, depending on the airline. It'sc about halfway between DF and Acapulco. |
