I have been offered a gig in Korat. I have never been there. What is it like living there, anyone? I think it is one of the larger cities in Thailand. If anyone lives there or has, fill me in. |

Korat is a pretty nice province. The main city is the second largest in Thailand I think. I used to have friends there and there are some good restaurants and the usual nightlife. There are malls and theaters, book stores, gyms, etc. There are a couple of national parks in the area as well i think. You aren't that far from Bangkok which is nice in my opinion. It really depends on what YOU are looking for though. |

I am really totally open to any experience, very flexible. I just want a steady job with pay. Mediakids is giving me, what I think, is a good deal. They are paying for work permit, visa and free accommodation. I think it is a good summer job for me. It will allow me to work in the field of education this summer and be able to return to subbing back in the States next school year. But who knows, maybe I will like teaching in Thailand enough to extend. Thanks. I was hoping that I would be in a place with some bookstores and especially a gym. From what I have read thus far on the internet and travel guides, it is not too expensive. I should be ok, perhaps save a few baht. |
