I know no one can predict the future, but if anyone can post some thoughts on the future of teaching English in Thailand given the current situation, it would be much appreciated.
I was planning to take the CELTA in Bangkok towards the end of summer (August). Is that pretty much a pipe dream now? What about Chiang Mai and Phuket? |

| Whatever happens politically, I doubt if English teachers & teaching in general will be affected to any great extent. All you are seeing on the streets of Bangkok is really a side show for the rest of the country. Bizarely, it's pretty normal and not many people take it too seriously. Although the red shirts command more support nationwide than the yellows, none of this will affect life at schools unless the situation deteriates (spelling?) to that of the deep south where teachers and schools are targetted by Muslim separatists. It's hot here, it's Songkahn, everybody is just letting off a little steam. Sanuk sanuk. |
