Has anyone created a blog in China and had it work OK? I was told blogs were easier than webpages to maintain and add to. What are your views?
Thanks. |

I have a bloggish thing, but I'm a computer guy so I run my own site.
blog would be fine, and you really should try and find a place to put pictures if you have a digital camera.
Depending on how far you want to go, you could get your own domain name (mine=spinningvortex.net) and a hosting package and set everything up. or you could use some free space. (I'd suggest spaceports.com)
Most of the software to use is quite easy to set up, as long as you can follow instructions (It's suprising how many people can't) |

I'm playing about with a couple of blogs at the moment. If you click on my weblink, you'll find it. There are a few people from China posting at 20six. Johanna is one of my favourites, you'll find a link to her site on my page.
I like 20six, but getting visibility is a bit of a weakness. I found my blog at blog-city to much easier to promote. But 20six is free and gives you 10MB for photos.
The only real problem I've found is getting my friends and family to actually read my blogs. I really need to get more interesting!

Rather than a blog, I created a mailing list on groups.yahoo.com
I have about 20 family and friends who are subscribers, and have the mailings setup for daily digest with me as the moderator. Whenever I type up the equivalent of a journal entry, I just fire it off and everyone gets a copy automatically. Works well for me. |

Thanks for the links and suggestions. Some of them look really good. Still deciding which way to go with this. |
