Finding information regarding eligibility for a Z Visa/Residence Permit is like a needle in a haystack, so I registered here to get some help on the matter from people who have recently been through the process.
Firstly, is a degree required to get them, I've been told on about 50% of job advertisements that it isn't, then I see people here saying it is required to work legally... what's the truth here? Then people also say being Native English from UK/US/AUS the degree part doesn't matter with a good TESOL qualification and of course good English ability?
One more thing, what is it like to "renew" if that's even possible Z Visa/Residence Permit, or do you have to go back to your home country and do the process again?
Thanks, I'm currently an ESL newbie |

Soometimes it is and sometimes it isnt.. turth is no one can tell you for 100% certain what you will encounter and what is the best method by which to come...I came on an L and converted and am I ever glad I did..that is not to say you will have the same exp...others like to advise coming on an Z claiming it is the only legal way, which I cannot agree with ...but then again I use an attorney and live in Beijing...location will dictate many of the events and the requirements as to what can be accomplished ...,I currently wok with a young man who has no BA....makes a good wage and has the FEC and RP based on the Z visa which they gave him in his native Aussie....he is younger than 24.... |

Very little is absolute in this country.
It depends on your school's relations. Ask your employer. Sometimes they lie, sometimes they don't. Sniff around a bit.
Post whatever comes up here so that people can help you make a good judgement. |
