Does anyone know if in Vietnam the salary paid is by hour (like Taiwan) or a full monthly salary like Japan)?

Thanks for your help

I think that really depends where you work. The larger institutions have a set hour timetable and give a monthly salary. (e.g. Apollo) The smaller institutions tend to pay by the hour but some also offer set hours per month.

I work for a major school in Hanoi and the teachers are paid by the hour.

I work for a large school in Hanoi as well. They pay an hourly wage but it is on a monthly basis. I also work for a smaller school that pays bi-weekly.

To clarify: My school pays by the hour, and payday is monthly. You teach 12 hours in a month, you get paid for 12 hours on the 5th day of the following month. You teach 100 hours in a month, you get paid for 100 hours on the 5th day of the following month. Pretty simple.

I just get paid for hours taught. Plus any extra hours I can claim for 'extra work'
