|
|
Hello
I'm hoping to get some advice on updating my CV.
I completed a Trinity Tesol certificate a number of years ago with a view to returning abroad to live. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances I have remained in the UK.
I have gained only a small amount of experience over the years - doing sessional work of a few hours a week. I don't have any full time overseas work experience. (Though I did live abroad and did some work (not teaching) for my partner before completing my Trinity cert.)
As my family situation has now changed and I want to live/work abroad teaching English, I decided to do an on line course as a 'refresher'.
So, how would prospective employers view this situation? I know on line courses are not highly regarded. Should I leave this off my cv?
Thanks in advance for any advice. |

YOu have work experience, which could help with EAP courses, play that up. Try to get some teaching or volunteer experience if possible. IF you do do an online cert, make sure it has at least 120 hours and 6 teaching hours. |

I'd tend to leave it off the CV; or put in on with a brief explanatory message.
You also have a very legitimate cert; I really doubt you'll have problems.
Best,
