The UET website has no links currently. Does anybody know what their status is currently? I was planning on signing up for their program. |

Pretty sure they went out of business some time ago...their phone number is no longer listed in the phone book. |

Thanks for the info, Guy. If anybody has any other information about UET I'm sure there are folks that would appreciate it. |

Do you mean, like debt collectors or ? They have been gone for awhile. Such is life in Mexico. Businesses come and go, especially in the tourist areas. |

Hi! I'm not sure if this information is too late, but, UETI is still up and running. I just completed their TEFL program and LOVED IT!!! I was in the classroom from day one. Helping to teach, and eventually teaching the entire class.
I highly recommend it!!!

Thanks ks13. This information is helpful.
Do you think UET is stable enough for me to plan on attending later this year? |

Well, I'm still looking for information to help me choose where to get my ESL certificate. I'm trying to choose between UETI in PV and ITTO in Guadalajara. Since I like the coast, I'd rather spend a month in the Puerto Vallarta area. But I am nervous about the reliability of UETI. I sent them an email last year and never heard back. I sent them an email two weeks ago and have not heard back.
Any information would help me choose.
Thanks.
By the way, this forum is the best source of information for ESL matters and I really appreciate all of you who write in. |

You've answered your own questions. Be really careful. Just curious but why would you continue to pursue a cyber entity who won't answer emails? Does ITTO answer emails? I suspect so. If they answer emails, they will likely be inclined to issue you a certificate at course completion too. |

I suspect it's because the OP really, really wants to spend a month in Puerto Vallarta rather than in Guadalajara, while getting the certificate and is hoping against all reason that the school in PV is still a good option! |

Maybe it would help to point out that trainee teachers don't have much free time to enjoy their surroundings to the fullest, in any case.
I'd go for the more reliable training centre. |

Thank you all, it's helpful. I had given up on UETI but then that recent post by ks13 sounded so good I figured I'd consider them again. |

Note that the poster made ONE post to the forum, ever. I'm surprised the moderators let the link stand under this circumstance, especially given our comments above. The school UET vanished ages ago. This is not the same website at first glance. This could be a rebirth, but it bears serious checking out under these circumstances. Check if it's registered as a business in PVR. Ask for the RFC number. You have to be careful here. Reread Guy's post above. |

That's good practical advice. I will see if I can get that information. Thanks. |

Wow, I didnt realize that because Ive not posted before, because I took a while to reply and I dont spend my entire life on this message board, that I cant be trusted! Who knew???!!!
UETI is currently a school. It focuses a lot on being a Language School, but still has the TEFL course.
Skyhorse23, Ive Privately Messaged you.
The rest of you, I know you have Skyhorse23s best interests at heart and dont want them to get ripped off, but, relax!
Just because you dont know whats going on with every school in Mexico doesnt mean they arent still working. |

Ks13, the training course/school was closed at some point since it first was advertised. The phone listing vanished. If you are associated with it you will obviously know this. If not, then know that the phone number is different now. Why would you take the discussion private if you were trying to set the record straight? Maybe the operation is under new ownership or something, but that shouldn't be a secret, should it? Who owns the current operation in Puerto Vallarta? |
