I would NOT recommend Angelina's ESL!
I worked with three recruiters this year. Horizon, Angelina's and Network ESL.
Angelina's pushed the worst possible jobs on me. I asked about seven different positions and they never put me in contact with any of them. They put me in contact with one school, located in the middle of no where.
Of the seven positions I did ask about (all listed as open positions on their website) none were really available. The excuses I got were all a little unbelievable.
So, in the end I wasted a lot of time by applying and talking to their recruiter (whose English was less then desirable).
I usually use a recruiter.(four years in China) It cuts down on the leg work and if things go bad you have another person to complain to. But, Angelina's seems to function on pushing the crappiest jobs on newbie coming into China, not finding jobs that fit your desires or needs.
I would recommend applying to as many recruiters as possible and see who works the hardest to find what you want. Don't accept whatever they throw at you and don't believe anything they say. Speak to the schools directly.
BTW another recruiter found me the job I wanted in a city I wanted to be in. It took them a little extra time, but they stayed in contact with me and explained where they were in the process when I asked. A good recruiter is worth the money, especially since it is not yours (the schools pay them, not you.)
The only recruiter I would absolutely avoid is Horizon ESL, MOD EDIT
Hope that helps. I am sure I will get flamed for my opinions but I felt I should share. |

The have a terrible reputation and I advise to stay away. Most of the jobs advertised on their website are not even available...and the jobs they have listed with those incredible salaries...forget about them...they don't even exist. What you can do is look through the list of schools on their website, find the same of the school and where it's located (which city) and spend a few minutes on Google, find their website and contact them directly.
Or if you're looking for university / K-12 jobs check out this website:
http://en.chinatefl.com/
At least you can look through the schools available in each province and contact them directly without much hassle. And, again, stay away from recruiters. |

I have to agree about Angelina's pushing jobs on me that I don't want and NEVER following up any jobs that I actually wanted or took an interest in.
Simon at Horizon is not much better either.
Chinatefl.com is very handy but usually the Uni's and schools never get back to me so I'm forced to use lots of recruiters also. |

Also, there's a very dodgy Aussie recruiter who works for Aston schools (training centres) who will tell you 'lies' to make you feel good about coming to China. Beware this outfit and their nasty contracts. |
