Does anyone have any plans for the Easter break?Most of us will probably get a full week free.The old lady and I wanted to go to the Slovakian Tatras to kick back for a few days and check out the crocus-filled valleys.

It's a beautiful time of year in the mountains.Alas,my sister-in-law decided to have her baby baptised on Easter Sunday and that means we're going to be grounded.

They asked me to be the God-Father,so my Easter will be filled with church bureaucracy,family functions and "confessions" etc.Should be a blast! Rolling Eyes

Being chosen as the Godfather is an honour.Dealing with Catholic Church bureaucracy and protocol is a pain in the arse.

I recommend checking out some of the many Easter processions that will be taking place around the country.Some of them are really inspiring and beautiful.

Going back to the UK to see family and buy a van with which to transport our burgeoning collection of stuff when we move. We only make it back a couple of times a year now, with elderly parents probably not enough... Sad

Easter Fayre at the local skansen this Sunday. Painting eggs on Easter Saturday, waving the wife and kids off to church to get their baskets blessed. Long breakfast with the in-laws on Sunday including early morning beer (father in law likes the excuse to have one so who am I to refuse?) long walk to get over that then back to in-laws for large and completely unnecessary (but tasty) dinner (wild pig). Watching the kids have water fights from the safety of the living room window on Monday. If this weather continues, probably the first zoo trip of the year on Tuesday.

Oh the joy of being a parent...

Barricade the front door on Friday afternoon, turn the speakers up and try to drown out the miserable chanting and wailing from the local church until Tuesday morning.

If the snow stays, Ill go snowboarding.

Also remember the long may weekend is coming up, plan appropriately when about 20 million poles hit the road.

i will be doing the usual....going to my girlfriend's family, eating, drinking and doing my best to duck church. my first Easter in Poland involved a 2 1/2 hour mass, I wanted to hang myself.

on another note, words cannot express how happy I am that the weather finally broke and Spring is here, just in time for the long Easter weekend.

in America, we say, "on Easter Sunday". I left "Sunday" out but was implying it.

in America, we also say for example, "Where will you be for Easter?" but we also say, "Where will you be on Christmas Day."

how do you say it where you're from?
