|
|
Hi everyone,
I'm curious if anyone here has any experience teaching online through chatrooms/webcams/agencies, etc?
I've read some interesting things on Karen Bond's site (http://www3.telus.net/linguisticsissues/CALLcontents.htm) and I am considering this as an option.
More specifically, does anyone have experience with teaching online as a new mom? I would still love to teach but I want to stay at home as much as possible.
Thanks
(Info- Degree, TESL certificate from Canadian university, less than one year teaching experience, previous career included computer training, Eastern [Montreal] time zone) |

This was discussed recently. Try a search, you should find it.
Most online places require you to make your own material, so if you can do that, you'll be fine. |

FYI
If anyone is interested in live online teaching, LANCELOT School is currently piloting some webinars which will give you an idea of this type of teaching and learning. Currently, the price is significantly lower than what is on the website because they are pilots. The website address is: http://www.lancelotschool.com
Webinar topics include:
Webinars which focus on synchronous tools:
* Virtual classroom teaching
* Teaching busy people
* Action based learning in Second Life
* Games,webquests and fun
* Tandem learning and peer-to-peer activity design
Webinars which focus on asynchronous tools:
* Writing skills: Blogs, Wikis and RSS
* Podcasts and videos in language learning
* Tools for grammar and vocabulary learning
* Invitation and class management
* Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Mention on the registration form that you heard about this on Dave's or from Holly. |
