Life sucks when you dont have a real job in shenzhen. WEnt to New Orient school last week for a demo and guess what. I'm the only foriegn teacher there. The other teachers were chinese english teachers who spent time abroud. Then after the demo they said they call me end of the week and they did not. So i call in there and they basicly said they do not hire forign teachers, but they wanted me so they could compare me with the other teachers, just for comparsions sake. They thanked me for my time and coproration and showed me the door.
Today walk into Hampsom and they offer me an intresting contract.
Anyone work for them before let me know how it is.

Oh My Lady GAGA!!! i hate to be a spelling and grammar hound but I count least 13 grammar/spelling errors in your short post above. If you speak like you write it's no surprise you didn't get the job.

What about your errors?

"i" and not "I".
Technically speaking, three exclamation marks is incorrect.
Lack of a proper comma with the "but".
A second missing comma, but not required.

If you hate to be a grammar hound, then why exactly did you have the obsessive need to still do so?

OMG! three is better than 13 and i"m not looking for a job...

HWHB, you sound like someone we know from the past. is it trew? Well we can cross that brooke when we come to it i suppose.

PS. An inability to spell and speak well may be an impediment to finding work as an ESL teacher, despite internet conventions. If I were an FAO or a DOS and I read a resume with 13 spelling errors it would be headed for File 13.

PPS.

I do believe the second comma is only required in the event of a non-restrictive clause. In the case above it's not required (as you noted) since it's merely the joining of two coordinate clauses.
