I have a return ticket to Canada which is valid to the end of September, and I don't want to waste it. So I was wondering when is the best time of the year to take a holiday and leave Taiwan for a week or two.

Is there a traditional summer break like the Chinese new year when there isn't much economic/business/school activity? For example mid or late August. Thanks.

We left the day classes ended on July 31. The our last class ended at 4pm. We were gone around 5:15. Went to Taipei for the night. Stored our luggage at a local hotel in their safe room for about 4 weeks and traveled the whole month of August. Malaysia, Bali, Vietnam, Hong Kong. It was great. You could do at least a couple of those countries if you only have 2 weeks. We also left for Thailand for two weeks during the Chinese New Year that year. Busy airports both times in Taiwan, normal everywhere else we went. Good luck.
