I think I'll be entering on an F visa now, which is better than an L visa. I know I need an invitation letter and have been told that since I?m not in the US, they'll send it to the US embassy.
ANyone have experience with invitation letters being sent to the embassy and you picking them up? I'm just not sure it's going to fly with the embassy. |

Not sure why it wouldn't. Every U.S. embassy I've been in has been nothing but helpful. I think they are used to this sort of thing. There was a girl at my school that got all her stuff from the U.S. embassy in Italy (not sure which city) |

Ok, thanks. I sure hope it's easy.
Everytime I go to the embassy they treat me like a criminal. I went to change my name a couple years ago, and after waiting for an hour, while other people came and went, I got the third degree, why was I changing my passport if my old one was still good for 6 years? (um, new name?), as well as having to verify all my data, while other people just picked up theirs with their recipts.
AND to top it off, the tall , blond hair, blue eyed guy refused to speak English to me (LOTS Of Americans are dark haired and dark eyed like me). Ugh, I hate racial profiling! |
