Hi, I am strongly considering the Boland School out of Brno, Czech. It sounds a bit more low-key than Prague, less expensive and it is geographically close to where I think I want to end up (central Europe - altough I am open to what the universe presents).
Because my end goal is to work at a univerisity or other research institution in education and research, with a content focus on sustainability &/or writing, I do not feel strongly that I must do SIT, Cambridge, or Trinity as some suggest. Boland School looks good as it offers 130 hours plus 6 assessment hours and is international certification. Does this sound like sound thinking?
Some people who took the Boland School training a while back recommend it. Anyone heard anything about their reputation these days?

So what you're saying is that you don't want to do a CELTA or SIT or Trinity cert course because it doesn't really prepare you for what you want to do...
...but then list the qualities that you don't really need as being the merits of the boland school program?
So, to answer your question, no. The boland school program has the same aims as the CELTA or SIT certificate. And just isn't (in my opinion, let's not start another flame war on the boland school) as good as either of those. |
