I got a proposal from English First (EF) in Xiamen in 2007. They even telephoned me. They didn't follow through, or even respond to my emails. Best of luck!

Hi ! again,
I've got a very positive response from them I've even completed my telephonic interview with them . The DOS conducted it . As far as he's concerned i think i'm gonna make it . he's told me that he'll respond to me in a few weeks after the owner comes back. The start date will be sometime end of june 09. i'm off to thailand in the meanwhile for my celta at IH .

The DOS liked my profile pretty much and regularly keeps in touch with me on emails. Do you think that's a good sign ? And they're aware that I'm Thailand for my CELTA.

How's Wenzhou as a place ? Have u been there.

I hope I make it through. If I do it 's gonna be my 1st job overseas.

See ya!

I know a few people who have worked for EF in Wenzhou and around China. EF is not the best of places to work at if you are interested in teaching English. The conditions are not good, the hours are horrible, you will most likely have very little free time or holiday and you are not, in general, in a position to say no. The people I know here in Wenzhou handed in their notice a few months ago and are now working for public schools until the end of the year.

Also I recommend not coming to Wenzhou. Wenzhou is not a good city and I have had a very bad time here. There is a nice, lively ex-pat community but the people here are not the nicest.
