I have post-degree TESL certification and plenty of experience, but it seems hard to find a job outside of China and South Korea. (And in China, most jobs don't pay nearly as much as I am looking for.) I have lots of teaching experience in language schools, but this time I'd like to get a job at a secondary school or even a college, if possible. However, I don't have the luxury of being able to attend job fairs for international schools or attend interviews in person. I'm especially interested in schools that will provide airfare and housing and a salary that is more than entry-level.
Which schools (EXCLUDING South Korea) do you know are still hiring ESL/EFL teachers to start in August or September, for possibly a one-year contract (NOT two-years)? I don't think I can teach in the EU because I don't have "EU status." I'm pretty open-minded about the country, in any case. |

Virtually everywhere in Latin America would be hiring- salaries, conditions, and benefits vary greatly.
Best,

Do you want names of specific schools around the world? I think that'd be hard to do. YOur best bet would be to check out the job forum at eslcafe.com And you'll find heaps of jobs.
Sure, China doesn't pay as well, but housing is much better than in other places, plus, they pay for flights, and cost of living is super low.
Are you a licensed teacher? Try applying through www.tes.co.uk
Getting more than entry level salary is hard if you're going to a new country. |
