Hi
Just been for an interview at Cleverlearn in Dist 3 HCMC and it seemed very thorough and professional. Forums from 2008 were very negative and I am wondering if anyone has any up to date information about the school?

Thanks

I know some people that are happy there, but the two negatives are the thin walls, where you can hear the teacher and students in the classroom next to you and vice versa, and also, the pay is below market. Good location in the city is a strong positive however.

Magic8ball's posting above is completely correct. I would just add that Cleverlearn is a good place for a new guy in town to pick up a few teaching hours to get started. Also, some of the classrooms have really cool views of the park and other parts of the city.

But don't get yourself tied down with a full-time contract. If you like it there you can accept more work from them, and at the same time you will still have the freedom to check out and work for some other schools and do some other types of teaching jobs. Variety is the spice of life and keeping loose is, for me, a prerequisite for relative happiness/sanity in HCMC. Otherwise, it just gets too repetitive.

If you have experience teaching TOEFL, be sure to ask for more.
