Seeing that inquiry about returning to the UK reminded me of the ongoing saga of "frozen pensions".
If you are entitled to a State Retirement pension from the UK be careful where you retire to ! In some countries your pension will be FROZEN at the level you first get it at. In others you will get the annual uprating.
And there are some surprises. If you go to Canada it will be frozen. Go the USA and it will be uprated.
There is an ongoing court case involving this where a pensioner is appealing to the House of Lords that this discrimination is unlawful.
Incidentally on the question of NI contributions I have a tip that might save you a few shillings. pm me for details. |

The average age of posters here is sixteen and a half. None of them are intersted in pensions.
Mental age might be a bit lower. |
