There is a thread on another forum showing a really bad teacher at work, and I wondered if anyone here had videos of themselves at work? The kind of thing you may have hosted and posted on You Tube or similar??
If you are brave enough to share, I would love to see some of the names I know only as posters in the classroom teaching! Would be a great little learning tool (and inspiration perhaps) for some new and old hands alike!
I know we are all quick to talk about the dodgy teachers we know and have worked with...and I only every seem to see links to show teaching in a bad light...so it would be nice to see a link to one or two of the polished guys strutting their stuff!
I have just started a new group this week, and may try and video something from thursdays class and share with you (so be kind if I do) |

Why a video when a mere photo will do? |

I have a variety of such clips, though most focus on working with students - it's very rare that I stand in front of a class.
However, my objection to posting any such item here is that, unfortunately, not everyone on the forum is supportive and friendly and respectful of each other. I've got a personal nemesis on the Czech and General Europe forums who goes to great lengths to try to refute most of what I post No way would I want to give this guy (or others like him) any kind of fuel for criticism. This could get way too personal. |

We used to video presentations during presentation training - truly horrendous to see yourself as others do. I never knew I had so many bad habits! It's a sure fire way of improving presentation, whether in the classroom or when giving a presentation. |

So that seems to be a no then ...
I didnt record my class on thursday, so havent got something to share either.
As crazy as it sounds...I really like watching others teach. Not for a full 45 min lesson...but I do enjoy watching someone setting up an activity and/or teaching a certain point of importance during a lesson.
I wasnt asking to slag people off....for a lot of the newer people, I thought it might have been quite instructional. I will record something of mine and get it posted at some stage. I can imagine lots of nonsense feedback...I guess Daves is a bit like that sometimes.
It interesting because the thread on the China forum shows the worst example of a back packer teacher in action. But I was thinking lots of back packer teachers join up here and post, lots of new teachers join here and post, even before they set foot in a classroom, statistically, lots of people here should be ... well, a bit crap. Statistically, some people must be. We only ever talk about how bad the other teachers are tho. |
