Hi everyone.

I have noticed adverts for courses which guarantee a job at the end of the course. What are people's experience of these jobs? What is the catch? basically, are the guaranteed jobs worthwhile?

Are the pay, conditions & locations desirable?

Do you have any choice where to go?

How long do the jobs generally last?

One institution guarantees 15 hours per week min. in Madrid. Can someone paint a realistic (unbiased) picture of how I might support myself during that time? e.g. if I take part time bar/cafe work will I be working day & night? What about private tutoring?

Thanks for any help you can give,
Dougie

No personal experience of such things but I'd be extremely sceptical of such claims. "Are the guaranteed jobs worthwhile?" Not necessarily!

What happens if someone turns out to be a hopeless teacher? They still get the job?

Exactly what are the conditions? In what schools? Where? How far out of the city centre? With a legal contract and social security?

15 hours a week (guaranteed for how many weeks?) is not going to be enough to live on.

Bar work, you may find (do you have experience? do you speak languages other than English and Spanish?)...

Private tuition, too, but it takes contact and time to build up enough hours...
