I have not really met the westgate people yet but I am beginning to think they are some how or other related to the "Borg" in Startrek, some kind of huge machine! I finished the first parts of their application process a couple of weeks ago and now am waiting for the last part, the actual telephone interview. They have said that they would do interviews in May. Will they announce that they are now doing interviews (by email, etc) or should I just keep checking daily? I have tried to call a couple of times but no one answers. Does anyone know if they have a new phone number?

I am ancy because I am having interviews for jobs in other countries now and in other places. Japan, while not being the most lucrative financially, would be my first choice in terms of interest. I sent them an e-mail and got no response. I am thinking of sending them a fax.

Any suggestions?

As has been said in other threads, it's Golden Week at the moment.
No one has gotten back to you because they are on vacation probably.

In my opinion hold off a little, lest they feel you're a bit crazy for calling 5 times a day and sending emails.

The Westgate application process takes a long time. A friend of mine submitted his application in mid-March, waited a few weeks for an interview, and has pretty much been sitting on his hands since then. Job starts next week or something, from what I hear.

P.S. Because it will drive me nuts not to say anything: it's "antsy", not "ancy".

It's a 'temp' agency and nothing more. What do you expect?

They advertise all over the place in an attempt to get as many cv's as possible.

Then they start pitching the best candidates to schools as part of their sales presentations.

Invariably, most of the best candidates decline the position, and they start going down the list of applicants.

Also, when a new sales contract is signed, they go down the list for people who will show up in a very short period of time.

Be patient, you're simply not near the top of the list.

I like the allusion to the Borg. Oh how I miss Katherine Janeway and Star Trek Voyager!

I applied to Westgate too but haven't seriously followed up with them. If they start saying to you, "YOU will assimilated! Resistance is futile!", then you will have a reason to fear Westgate Laughing

What justapro said.

You're at the bottom of their meaningless list. Put them at the bottom of yours as you interview with other companies and schools. They played the same game with me for a while, so I just went ahead and took another job. Actually, I still get their emails and haven't told them to take me off the list just because it's funny to see for how long they want to know if I'm still interested in "possible openings."
