i really don't know what to do about it but suddenly i have this sense of... how do i explain it, ugh. there it is, ugh.
what do you do to get over the hump when you have "hueva"??
i guess right now what im doing is looking forward to getting the semester over and done with. the last two weeks are just high school.
luckily enough, i've really grown to like teaching prepa more than uni classes and i'm really starting to think i should teach high school and university Spanish in the states and maybe some ESL at the community college level for new immigrants.
I meant for this to be a hueva thread, sorry for the aside. |

hueva... is... well, fish egg, but it also refers to being tired, lazy, or a slacker. |

It sounds to me like you're feeling drained and lethargic.
I think the best way for you to get over it is by taking some time to unwind once you've finished the school year.
Taking some time to unwind is sometimes looked down upon in Western culture, as it is seen as evidence of laziness, and shirking of one's responsibilities. But it is actually very helpful to take frequent breaks from your work as it allows you to reenergize yourself, refocus, and fulfill your responsibilities with renewed vigor.
So long as it isn't overdone.
So when you get a chance, devote some time to relaxing, in whatever fashion you desire, be it a vacation, spending time at home, whatever.
If after say, 2-4 weeks, you're still feeling lethargic, then you have a more deeply rooted problem. |

Yes, be careful. I think the stage after "hueva" is burn out. At the moment I'm enjoying some post-burn out hueva before the semester starts again. Gotta love the 2 week Easter break in government schools. |

Bravo to you for stating that it's not all bad teaching highschool students. All we ever read on these forums is the negative. |
I second that opinion. I enjoyed my 4 years of teaching high school students, and now I enjoy teaching middle school students even more! Never a dull moment! |
