Hello, everyone. Im currently working on my MA TESOL dissertation. My topic involves the professional identity of native speaker EFL/ESL teachers working abroad. My research is based largely on my own experiences as an EFL teacher in South Korea.
I am looking for participants to complete a questionnaire focusing on their experiences as teachers working abroad. The questionnaire would be sent by email and would take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Participant identities will remain confidential and any data reported will be done so anonymously.
Please, message me if you would be interested in participating.
I would really appreciate your help and your insights. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Take care.
*UPDATE: I have now concluded my data collection. Thank you to everyone who participated. I really appreciate you taking the time to complete the questionnaire. Your feedback has been incredibly helpful. Thank you. Take care.
Sincerely,
Tracy

Could you explain what you mean by 'professional identity'? |

Sure. The aim of my research to find out to what degree EFL teachers consider themselves to be professional, or 'real', teachers, compared to teachers in other fields and subject areas.
Within the field of education, ESL/EFL teaching is considered, by some, to have a lower status, and not thought of as a field in which one might have a long-term career. My aim is to gain some insight into how teachers view themselves and the work they do within this context. |
