Last time I checked Americans were able to get criminal background checks done in their emabssies and consulates. I know if I needed to get one that is what I would do instead of going back home, unless going back home was already planned to begin with. Might wanna check into that Kev.

I have never heard of a U.S. Embassy or Consulate that conducts criminal background checks for U.S. citizens. If you know of one, please provide a link to their site detailing this service for U.S. citizens.
