Hello. I will be travelling to South America during the summer. I will be teaching, I have a teaching qualification and a degree, although I am still a student also.
But my question refers to student cards. Are cards accepted abroad, student cards for discounts? And if so, which cards are accepted?
Any information would be appreciated

Just bring your uni ID card. I once used a library card to get a discount at a musem here in Peru. They don't really check.
Anyways, the prices are so low anyways. |

On a more general note:
I've worked in places in Canada that will only accept International Student Cards. I've also worked at other places where we will accept school-issued student cards IF it is very clear as an English speaker that it is a student card (not a staff card or general ID card) AND there are validity dates on it and it is still valid. In 2004 I had a guy try to use a student ID card to get the student rate at the museum where I worked- except his card CLEARLY said, "Expires April, 1983". Before I was born! |

The International Student Identity cards have student and teacher cards and are generally accepted everywhere. |
