I would like to teach in Vietnam for a while. I have a TEFL certificate, but no degree.
1) Is it difficult to find a job for people who only have a TEFL certificate, but no degree ?
2) Are there a lot of short-time opportunities, like jobs for 2 or 3 months, or does one normally have to sign a long-term (1-year) contract ?
3) Do I need to bring the original TEFL certificate, or will a copy do ?
4) What salary can I expect ?
5) Do I need a Criminal Background Check ? |

Yes , you need a background check according to vietnamese law. You need a degree too. And a TESOL certificate.
Remember this is a communist country, although a rather benign form of communism.
Follow their rules and you will have no problem. Break them and risk deportation. |

Do you need a degree and background check also for a short term job, let's say 3 months ? |

For a 3 month gig I would not worry about it. Just work enjoy your time and see what happens. |

A TESOL Certificate is worth more than a degree in vietnam. Just try your luck and see what happens. Some schools are not strict especially if they need teachers. |
