Anybody been through Michael Hess's Volunteer Nepal program or worked with his Nepal Orphan's Home? Looking for input outside of his website!

They say that after the monsoon clears out, in September and October I think, is the best time for big views of the mountains. Was there last year in the spring and we could see the mountains less and less each day into May, when they basically all but disappeared into the clouds.
You could look into volunteering at the Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir on the outskirts of Kathmandu (Thankot village)...they have about 90 orphans, a school, some farming, some cottage industry and always need volunteers. Google it. |

Nepal people like to set up orphans programs as a way to make cash. I hear the standards are a joke and has little to do with helping the children. |
