First let me say that my research indicates that the Dubai British School is a real school. However there is an email going around claiming to be from the school, which uses photos and names taken from the Dubai British School website, that is not from the school. The emails don't match up and it's pretty clear to me that the person you correspond with via the emails is speaking English as a 2nd language (despite claiming to be a British national). You know how some people speak English with too much structure and are just a little off on some of the phrases.... Anyway the offers are too good to be true and I would advise not answering this email. If you do get an email from them that you think might be real, just Google the school and get their REAL email/ telephone # and contact them via that. Don't respond to the email that is sent to you unless you just want to have some fun. Real schools with real offers will answer using the school email if they are really interested in hiring you. And you can always call them on the phone..... Spending a dollar on an international call is better than getting ripped off.

This reminds me of one of my favorite websites of all time: Scam Baiters. These blessed souls fake-respond to scams and trick the would-be scammers into doing all kinds of degrading things while photographing themselves doing it.

There have been a number of threads about this scam lately.

They are starting to get very tricky!! Shocked

Now that I have realized this is a scam. I have sent them a copy of the first page of my passport. Can they do anything with that? I won't do anything from now on now that I know better. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Literally hundreds of people have taken the steps this far and we haven't heard yet of anyone encountering any problems. What happens with this scam is that a few emails from now, you would have been told to send a few hundred dollars by Western Union to some fellow to do your visa for you.

That is the scam - as in the UAE teachers NEVER send money to a ministry before arrival for a visa.
