There is never really a good or bad time to go to China or indeed Shanghai. There is always a number of jobs going at any time of your.
As for costs, you are choosing the most expensive city in China. Very often schools will help organise your accommodation. Depending on quality and location, in Shanghai you could expect to pay between RMB2000/month for something very basic and in a not so good location and the sky's the limit thereafter. For something reasonable, expect to pay around 4-6,000RMB/month.
If you consider other cities other than Shanghai and Beijing, rent could be as low as 1,000RMB.
Daily expenses are anything you want them to be. It's easier to say that you could save between 20% to 75% of your monthly salary depending on where you live and your salary.[/list] |

Plan on spending at least 45 RMB for accommodations per night while looking for a job.
Perhaps another 20-50 for living expenses such as food and water.
10-30 for traveling
Then your wait time for a job can be anywhere from a few days to a month or so.
You will be offered some summer camp positions, an occasional private tutoring position, many positions at private language mills, and hopefully some public school positions, which are the best in my opinion.
Bring your diploma. |
