I am graduating with a Masters degree in Early Childhood education and Special education grades 1-6 from Touro College in New York City, a Jewish founded institution with campuses in many states in the U.S and many countries, including Israel as well.
Even though my replacement coordinator was very positive after our phone interview, I did not get granted by the ADEC an in person interview they have with candidates here in my hometown, New York, next week.
I know that they do not allow individuals that have visited Israel to enter their country...
Could they have cut me because of the institution I am getting my Masters degree from...Could it be that I don't have the typical Anglo-Saxon sounding name and last name...could it be the competition...
I am just wondering if I should try to land a job on this country or try for another one...
I would love to teach English in another country, and enrich myself with what that country has to offer. I have lived in three countries and speak 5 languages. I understand how much this experience would benefit me.
Thank you in advance for your responses and time. |

| Your credentials sound very good, but any association with Israel is problematic. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia recently awarded a prize to an American Jew and his family was invited to attend the award ceremony in Saudi even though they had obviously been to Israel. I don't think the issue is with Jews in this part of the world, the issue is more with Israel and anyone who has visited the country. I have been advised that if one visits Israel, they do not stamp your passport, but give you a piece of paper with your visa on. |

I don't think they have a problem with Jews at all. Just Israelis.
Careful with the 'piece of paper' stamp instead of the passport advice. As I discovered to my cost, it's a total myth. |

| I believe that the US will issue you a duplicate passport if you have the need to travel to countries that block entrance based on other countries' visas present in your passport. |

Well, the both of you are getting very warm. It's just the correct term that you're not useing.
One night playing that haraam game of poker in an istraha with a bunch of guys from Prince Sultan's office (the Minister of Defense and the now-Crown Prince), I felt comfortable enough to ask them, "What is it with you guys and the Jews? They're people of the Book, too!. Col. Zahrani's reply was, "We've got nothing against the Jews, we've got a problem with the Zionists.
So, technically, you are correct arabianknight, but they like to cite that Zionists are there major pet peeve.

| ADEC requires 3 years of experience if I'm not mistaken. That might be the rub. |
