Hi, I'm finishing up in Korea right now with some time to kill before heading back to the UK in the autumn. I have a Japanese Working Holiday Visa, and am trying to figure out my chances of getting some temporary work in Japan for the summer, staying in a gaijin house etc, just a way to get some valuable yen and see the sights a bit... So what's the job market looking like esp with regards to temporary posts? Can I get work quickly enough so I don't spend all my money on the steep exchange rate? Looking to just go there and find work on arrival; even sufficient part-time work will suit me. Am thinking Fukuoka or Kansai, or anywhere in between. Any advice is handy.

P.S. Have bachelor's degree and experience in Korea, no TEFL

The job market in Japan is flooded, and the main hiring season is over. Getting a jo "quickly" may not be easy. Contracts are usually for a year, so you will have to look pretty hard to find the short-term summer jobs. There are more PT jobs than before, so perhaps you should look into those.

Larger cities will be your better bet, but even Fukuoka isn't known for a lot of jobs.

Just curious. If you are not in the UK yet have just finished up work there, how did you get the working holiday visa for Japan? You have to apply from the UK for it.
