Hi.

I was just wondering if anyone out there knows if you can work on family status with Vinnell Arabia in Riyadh, or is it single status only?

Any and all info appreciated.

Thanks,

gvgirl

Dear gvgirl
Single status only, I'm afraid.

"Currently, all individual contracts are single status and one year at a time."

Greetings.

That "single status Americans only" rule may change shortly, as the new US Ambassador is having his embassy staff look into the background (bombings in May 2003) and the current rationale for that counterproductive policy.

Many European contractors do not have such a restriction, so their family-filled housing compounds are welcome places to visit, socialize and observe, and those expats tend to stay there for several years.

Hope this helps.
