I know that you can sponsor a spouse if you are working in Kuwait, but is it possible to sponsor a girlfriend? If not, would it be possible for her to get a visitor visa, then leave the country and return to renew it? If so, is there a limit for how many times you could do it? Thanks to anyone with any info.
Cheers. |

I don't believe you can sponsor a girlfriend, as it is illegal to "live in sin", in Kuwait. As for her getting a visit visa, it depends on her nationality. US, Canada, UK, and many others can get a visa on arrival, but most others must have a visit visa. As far as renewing it, I believe 3 months is the maximum. Miski and others may be more help with this one. |

No you can't sponsor girlfriends in the Gulf. And if she is able to come on a visit visa, your landlord or neighbors could cause you problems... especially if the two of you are of different nationalities.

Yep, we're from different countries (I'm from Australia, she's from Brazil). Looks like it's not going to happen now, maybe one day in the future. Thanks for your posts guys. |

Marry her. That will solve your problem. A lot of people have a so-called Islamic marriage. You marry under local laws. As long as you don't register the marriage with your embassy, you are free to part ways if the relationship doesn't work. It's very easy to get a divorce. Several of my friends opted for this kind of marriage to enable them to cohabit. Some are still together. some have split. The authorities are not bothered by the way westerners use the marriage system here. |
