Does anyone have any experiences or personal stories
to tell me about living
in Al Khobar ?
What is this city like ?
I noticed that it is located on the coast and am wondering if
there are opportunities for a single female to go swimming
(at private beaches) ?
What is the social life like there ?
Is it easy to make friends with Saudi families or will it be difficult ?
Would I be able to go camping in the desert as a single female or
not at all ?
Also has anyone heard of any good elementary schools there ?
I only know of one called Bayan Gardens School ??
Thanks in advance. |

Swimming possible but difficult to go by yourself as you would really need a bloke to go with you. What would you do-have a Pakistani taxi driver waiting at the beach for you or have him come back in two hours? Better to go to Pearl Beach or a five star hotel with a beach club.
Make friends with Saudi family-unlikely but not impossible.
Camping in the desert with whom. By yourself is impossible not least because how would you get there?
Social life tends to be compound life and if you are not on a compound then getting invited to one regularly.
Khobar is all shopping and traffic-you cannot drive so will have to rely on taxis-a pain. |

Marquess answered the other questions nicely, so I will address the school question.
Are you asking for teaching in or putting your child in? Either way, the best schools in the East are the several schools part of the "International Schools Group".
