I bought an Acer laptop recently when I visited Canada. It broke down after 4 months. I have called the support lines in Canada and Japan - Canada says that the stock warranty is valid in Japan and that I have to get it repaired here because its where I live, and Japan says the warranty isn`t valid here, and that I should send it to Canada. Has anyone had a similar experience? |

I had something similar with US warranty, but I just went and fixed my laptop myself.
Here's something maybe you can try.
If you can somehow check your sn # on acer's website, it might be able to tell you where your warranty is valid.
Hmm... try calling Canada back and check with someone else to double check if it truly is valid. If they still say it is valid in Japan, ask if Acer Japan would be to check case/problem #s from Acer Canada. If they can, get the case # and toss it to Acer Japan... if they still persist, ask to speak to manager.
Even though it may be very frustrating, remember to always be polite. It really does go a long way to help you out (even if you have to run through 1000 steps, if you don't get angry the rep will probably give you better service). |

Thanks! It`s difficult because there`s no English staff at Acer Japan, so I have to pester the staff at my work if I want to call them. I guess I`ll try to work with the Canadian side as much as possible. |
