Hey all, I'll try to make this brief: I was offered an (appealing) contract through a reliable company last week, and was told to print it, sign it, scan it and email it back to them when I was ready. I did so this past Saturday. It's now Wednesday here and I've yet to hear back from them. Cause for concern? Should I send a 'just checking you received my...' email? Keep playing the waiting game?

All help appreciated.

No harm in asking for confirmation they received your signed contract, but tomorrow is the Dragon Boat public holiday, so you may have to wait another few days.
I signed (typed my name on) a contract recently by email. I wonder why they asked to print, hand sign and scan etc. ?

Things here tend to 'fall through the cracks' more than you are probably used to back home.

A staffer may have unplugged the fax to use a hot plate and never put it back. You never know.

Assume it fell through the cracks and send a polite inquiry.

I love that! It's hilarious . . . and probably true! Smile

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are very busy getting resident permits renewed for current teachers and sorting through the applications for new teachers. Add to that the end of the year parties/performances and the FAO can be quite busy. However, it wouldn't hurt to send a short, polite email asking if there is anything else they need from you and when you might expect the invitation letter.

One more thing.. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are off for many schools due to the Dragon Boat Festival. Admin folks won't be working either. I know the FAO at my school scurried to get paperwork in to the province capital before the holiday began.

Hope all goes well for you and hear from them soon.
