I was wondering if anyone can help me. Does anyone have any ideas when UAEU will get in touch with faculty to let them know if their application has been accepted? Will it be HR or the department that get in touch with you?

UGRU or one of the Faculties? Normally it's the department that gets in touch. But HR is capable of blocking appointments which departments want for mysterious reasons of their own.

As for when - how long ago was your interview? Way back when I was appointed the interview was February, they said I would here before the end of April and the offer came towards the end of May. That's UGRU. Faculties can be quicker - or they can take up to a year. I think those interviewed at TESOL Arabia for UGRU posts were told the outcome fairly swiftly.

Are you serious? HR is supposed to be the Dean's Office's monkey butlers, doing their master's bidding! That's a frightening prospect to have administrative doolittles determining people's fates... (no offense to any HR members on this forum; I mean strictly in the scenario Iamherebecause is describing).

Then prepare for an attitude adjustment for life in the GCC
BTW this doesn't happen everywhere but this is a baseline for living here - especially #1 below - someone will slap you sometime for mistakenly assuming that things make sense here.

If it makes sense, it won't happen that way
If it's logical, it won't happen that way
If it's effective and efficient, it won't happen that way
If it's a professional and ethical way to proceed, it won't happen that way

If it feeds someone's ego, it will occur
If it makes someone feel important, it will happen that way
If it's unprofessional and/or unethical, it will happen that way
If it is illogical, ineffective, inefficient, and nonsenscial - you're guaranteed that you've hit the jackpot :lol

Thanks IAMHEREBECAUSE. It's as a faculty member. I contacted HR who told me to contact the department directly. Spoke to the department and they told me the head is away for a week so will call back again then. I had my interview in the uni in Feb and was told will hear by mid may.
thanks for the reply.
