Hello, everyone. Im currently working on my MA TESOL dissertation. My topic involves the professional identity of native speaker EFL/ESL teachers working abroad. My research is based largely on my own experiences as an EFL teacher in South Korea.
I am looking for participants to complete a questionnaire focusing on their experiences as teachers working abroad. The questionnaire would be sent by email and would take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Participant identities will remain confidential and any data reported will be done so anonymously.
Please, message me if you would be interested in participating.
I would really appreciate your help and your insights. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Take care.
*UPDATE: I have now concluded my data collection. Thank you to everyone who participated. I really appreciate you taking the time to complete the questionnaire. Your feedback has been incredibly helpful. Thank you. Take care.
Sincerely,
Tracy

I 't think the data you intend to collect will lack some elements of trustworthiness as the so-called informants of your research are deeply hidden behind anonymous identities themselves on an asynchronous discussion. Also, you will need to be aware of the fact The self-reporting data of your respondents here might not provide " an in-depth and rich" description. I am assuming your research method is a qualitative one.
Good Luck!
Just for fun hey!, what could happen if most of the schools, colleges and unis in KSA decided to reveal and uncover our identities through planting an insider with the cover of an alleged research that needs participants |

Being as how this request was (annoyingly) posted on every single board on Dave's, I guess it's unlikely that it was planted by the Saudi government |

Firstly, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to anyone who may have been 'annoyed' by my request for research participants. It was certainly not my intention to bother anyone. And, I very much appreciate all of those who have offered to participate.
Secondly, I am ethically bound to keep the identities of research participants confidential. I would think anonymity actually allows participants to be more open and honest in their responses.
Lastly, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not moonlighting as a spy (which is exactly what a spy might say... hmmm...) I'm just a lowly grad student.
Thank you. |

Well, I must admit that it's a bit annoying to see that EVERY board had a new unread post...AND IT WAS YOU! You get an "A" (or would that be an "I"???) for innovation!
I would second the opinion of another poster about the efficacy of some of your informants from this forum. Some are down-right nuts (present company excluded, of course)
Good luck in your endeavours, young man...

I'm beginning to think the post was either a scam or a joke. I e-mailed the guy/gal a while back and never heard from him/her.
Anyone else have the same experience?
Regards,
John |

Dear GlobalDawg,
Well, I DID hear from the poster just a few hours ago, was sent the questionnaire, answered it, and sent it back today.
So, I guess it wasn't a hoax.
Regards,
John
Update - and I just received a "Thank you" e-mail from the poster. |
