Want to know if I went to poland next week could I walk into a teaching position...............
If so could you giv me some contact details, etc........
I dont mind where, but would prefer to teach adults.
I have a PGCE, and am qualified to teach in both the Uk and Ireland.
I also have 4 + years of TEFL experience.
Anyone out there can help?

Hi, most private English schools in Poland teach adults. Most of them also shut down for two months in the summer, just like the kiddie schools because so many people are travelling, it's not cost effective for them. Hence, the gap-year contracts.
Speak Up goes year round and hires year round, but their volume does go down in the summer, so the need to hire then is balanced by the fact that it is also the time of year most teachers pick to leave their job, if they are going to. I don't know which other schools go year round.
I know about Speak Up because I worked there. At the time I left Poland, they had four locations in Warsaw and 8 or 10 others around the country. Your experience and EU nationality make you a sure bet for the fall, at least. I assume you have a TEFL type certificate. If so, you're gold. Just not a lot of work around in the summer. You could try summer camps, but they are mostly children. |

You'll have no probs getting a job in September with a PGCE. Try Bell...they do summer camps and are all over the place.
Legnica......krap place to go....must have met a bird. Not the first horny leprachaun in Poland and won't be the last? |
