Hello there! Ive got a telephone interview with Lincoln School Krakow on Friday. Does anyone have any information about this school or experience working there? I am particularly interested in what an average weekly schedule looks like and in flexibility of teaching hours; as well as if the school is as reputable as it claims on its website.
This will be my first full time permanent teaching job.

Thanks for your help!

Danny

Hi Danny,
I worked in Krakow for a bit.
I am fairly good friends with a guy who is now in his second year working there and he has a very positive opinion of Lincoln in terms of how flexible they are with teaching hours and overall care of the teacher.
I also had an interview there and all seemed in order.
I'm no expert on the place, but it could be a good school to go for. Besides, there is no better place to live than Krakow.

Good luck

S

I started off in Lincoln 2 years ago and i turned out to be a well rounded teacher Wink

Seriously, it's a good school to start your teaching career. It's 99% exam courses from all levels from beginners to CPE, with the occasional business class/student here and there. It's got a fairly small resource library (well small compared to the monster library i've got available now) but you'll be well supported whilst you're there. There are computers, photocopiers and kettle and most importantly a good feeling about the place between the support staff, Polish teachers and the natives. The school itself is a mere stones throw (if you've got a strong arm, and you don't throw like a girl) from the centre in a magnificent building - at least i thought so. Paperwork is kept to an acceptable level and importantly when i worked there and through continuing contacts they don't cheat you out of cash. If you do have a problem with pay (counted wrong, dispute with hours) they sort it out pronto. Let's face it, no school is perfect but they'll bend over backwards to help you settle in i.e. set you up with a bank account/other bits and bobs.

The boss, Piotr, is a top bloke (you know my phone number Piotr Wink).

There are probably 5/6 good schools in Krakow that won't screw you/aren't dodgy. Lincoln is one of them. Saying that, if you sound fly-by-night, or want only a half a year position, they'll say goodbye and thank you for your time.

I tried to send an e-mail about any teaching positions opening up (they just had a new ad placed on a job search engine), but immediately after sending it, I got a mail-return error stating that the action failed.

The address was this: job AT lincoln.edu.pl

Here's the message I received:

Any ideas, and is there another way to contact the director with my information, CV, etc.? Thanks.
