I was considering getting CELTA trained at ILA vietnam in Ho Chi Min..

I'm sure I am not the first to ask this...What do people that frequent this board think of the program/ worth the money/ good results etc.

I enjoy teaching esl and want to become a better teacher so I think I probably should look into it

Any info would be apprecaited

Thanks

phil

Get a CELTA? Absolutely.

More schools now want it, and it will help you with some training, plus being able to work at some of the schools that require it.

CELTAinly yes! The institution that provides CELTA degrees may well want to hire you after finishing. Try Apollo. Do a search on ILA.

You could also acquire a CELTA degree in another country, say a country you would like to visit, and then come here and teach. If your plan is to study, and you can pay for the time, then get the best of both worlds.

Hi,

I spoke to a teacher who had had four years experience teaching before he got CELTA cert-ed, and he said his year since has been by far the happiest and most productive of his teaching life because the techniques he learned were helping him so much and hence reducing stress etc. Make of that what you will.

The ILA CELTA is top notch IMO. Generally though people only do one so it's a bit tricky to get an objective answer to that...

The prices are all in the same ballpark, and because the CELTA centres are Cambridge accredited and regularly assessed they all have the same core content. After that it's down to the quality of teachers and you.

If you go for it prepare to work like hell for 4 weeks. They don't mess around.
