I am taking up a contract soon and as I have two children, aged 7 and 5, I am considering this school for their education. Do the children of expats get treated with respect by the other students at this school? I have read of instances of bullying and harrassment of foreign children at some schools in Saudi. Any information would be great.

At international schools, they are all expats, save for a handful of Saudi students, so you have nothing to worry. (Saudis need special permission from the government to send their kids to international schools, and it is difficult to get)

I don't know which schools you have read about where foreign children are bullied, because there is almost a neat split when it comes to schools here. Either they are all-foreign, or all-Saudi. (with just a few 'misplaced' children in some of the schools)

BTW, it will set you back SR. 60,000/year for your children (SR. 73,000/year when the younger one is 6), plus one-off entrance/registration fees of SR. 13,000+. So I hope your employer covers that, at least partially.

Thank you Trapezius. Your reply helps a lot. I had read of the bullying situation on another post, I think on this site. Yes, my employer will subsidise the tuition fees. Thanks again.
